Good Neighbor Project is a student-run music education program for students of refugees in the Beaverton neighborhood. Our teachers are college and high school students who are committed to teaching and sharing music with students who may not otherwise have the opportunity. Currently, ukulele and music theory are taught in a group once a week and our classes and instruments are free. Because our students come from different backgrounds, we learn, sing and play folk songs from all over the world. We collaborate and have concerts with amateur and professional musicians from our diverse neighborhood. Through our project, we hope to grow as talented musicians, caring teachers, and active citizens. We welcome anyone seeking opportunities to teach and share our mission.
